If you’re on Vine follow me on JackAlexanderPhotog, going to start posting videos from shoots :)
Anonymous asked: you're the most fascinating and easy to speak to photographer I have ever spoken to! so if someone asked (and obviously payed?) to do a shoot with you, just because you can, would you do it?
Good haha! Of course I would… I wouldn’t turn anyone away, unless they started trying to claim that I should shoot with them for free because they can make things happen for me. Heard that all before! I have to charge for all shoots because I’m trying to make a living out of this and I have bills and rent to pay, but yeah. My email is info@jackalexanderphotography.co.uk for anyone that ever wants to shoot. I do actor headshots, model portfolios, press shots for musicians, clothing lines… anything really.
Anonymous asked: I'm such a huge fan of your photography; you really inspire me to take this up as a profession, the only problem is I'm just no good at it. Is there any advice you can give to someone like myself who lacks the skills, knowledge, equipment, and just about anything else but passion to take photography up?
Thanks! I’m putting together a blog post addressing this exact thing :) Except, I need to actually DO IT and stop talking about doing it. It is coming though, promise!
Anonymous asked: out of interest who do you photograph? (like why?) where do you do it? (as in would you go to another country?) and what inspires you, when you photograph a person? :)
I photograph anyone that intrigues me! I always like taking photos of new faces. I shoot almost entirely on location… so streets, fields, anywhere that’s cool. I’m going to the US in a couple weeks! New York, Miami, Bahamas…! I just like working with different people because everyone has a different look and nobody is ever the same to work with… it’s fun because you can do whatever you want when you’re shooting. You can paint someone green if you want! (I tried that once though, didn’t go so well………..)
wednesdayrush asked: I just finished and handed in an assignment an hour before it was due, and now i'm sitting here using the university's internet to stare at all your photos. I'm incredibly content right now. Just thought you should know.
I love this :)
everydaylifecollection asked: I just wanted to say that not only do I think your photography is beautiful, but also it's so nice to see that even though you're successful, you still have time for people who ask you for help with things. I find that's very rare with photographers, so thank you for being genuine and approachable! x
Thank you. There’s nothing I hate more than when other photographers don’t reply to me. Happens all the time, even if they’re asking for assistants or something and I email in, and they never ever reply. Sometimes I’ll even just message someone to say I like their work and there’s no response. I think it’s really rude and arrogant and it’s the last thing I’d want anyone to think I was. Really doesn’t take much to say thank you, and I think it’s the least that I (and other photographers) can do since usually the people asking for help are the people that are ‘liking’ and reblogging the photographers work, helping to get it out there. I’m putting together a blog post (might try and finish it tonight) of ‘tips’ and questions I get asked a lot, so every time someone asks me a question that I get often, I can simply send them the link to the blog post :)
